Nippers -Volunteers
The success and community spirit of our club is made possible with the involvement of our generous members. In return, you will see quality equipment and supplies for our kids as well as get to know wonderful people.
If your child competes in carnivals there is an expectation that you will support our nippers club in some way. Either directly as an official, water safety, age manager, team manager, as a bbq helper, fundraiser, committee member, etc.
By involving yourself in some way you help all our children, you get to know other members, all while having fun. What a great way to teach our kids how to be a contributing member of the community.
You can help at Nippers each Sunday with:
-
Cutting fruit
-
BBQ - preparing, serving, pack up, etc
-
Making cakes to sell with the bbq
-
Activities set up & pack up
-
Fundraising like selling raffle tickets, collections, etc
Other ways you might like to help make our club run well are:
-
Join the Junior Activites Committee
-
Be an age manager. Age managers look after the safety, well-being and development of our nippers.
-
Learn new skills and gain qualifications in first-aid to help beach patrols and carnivals.
-
Become an Assessor or Training Officer to help with the numerous awards our members take part in each year.
-
Get your Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) or Bronze Medallion to provide water safety to our junior members. The club runs short courses for parents & friends to become water safety officers.
-
Also, there are regular Officials courses so you can take an officials role at carnivals.
There is a range of positions available on the Junior Activities Committee. You are welcome to nominate for vacant positions for the coming season.
The club supports and encourges adults to achieve first aid, resuscitation, Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC), Bronze medallion and other qualifications. The club will pay the fees for most accredited courses after completion.
Point Danger Branch runs several Officials courses throughout the year. These take approximately 4 hours. The club runs several SRC and Bronze courses. Please contact your age manager, committee member or check the website calendar for more information.
Contact the club to offer your support at Nippers, or speak to us at the sign-on desk on Sundays during nippers if you would like to be involved and assist in any area of the club.
